On the ocassion of the Victory Day marking the end of the WW II, Ambassador Dr Dejan Popović and Assistant Defence Attaché Major Bojan Veličković laid a wreath at the Tower Hill Memorial in London, which commemorates men and women of the Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleets who died in the war. Among 4,786 sunk merchant ships there were two Yugoslav rendering services for the Royal Navy – Vojvoda Putnik (44 of the crew were killed) and Velebit (28 of the crew perished).
