On 10 May 2015, King’s College in London organized a book launch to promote an English edition of a book entitled “Christian Heritage of Kosovo and Metohija” which contains 900 color reproductions, depicting prominent personalities, monasteries, churches, frescoes and icons. The book’s publisher is Western American Diocese along with the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Institute for Balkan Studies and Faculty of Orthodox Theology, University of Belgrade, as co-publishers. It is a telling testimony to the centuries-old efforts of the Serbian Orthodox Church to build and preserve Christian heritage in Kosovo and Metohija. Bishop Maxim and Fr. Sava of Decani spoke about the book appealing for the preservation of the remaining Serbs and putting an end to the destruction and desecration of monasteries and churches in Kosovo and Metohija which belong to the international cultural heritage. The book launch was attended by Professors and students of King’s College, representatives of other faiths and Serbian diaspora in the United Kingdom, as well as by the Greek Consul in the UK and Serbian Ambassador Dr. Ognjen Pribicevic. |
