Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in London H.E. Aleksandra Joksimović has received the Knight of Honour Award for diplomatic excellence at the 17th Edition of Asia-Europe Business & Social Forum 2022.
Addressing the organizers and participants of the Forum, Joksimović underlined that the award was a great honour and incentive for her to continue her engagement and diplomatic efforts to bring the two countries, Serbia and the United Kingdom, closer.
"It is a great pleasure when such efforts and engagement are recognized and encouraged by relevant experts," said Joksimović.
Bearing in mind that the role of an ambassador is to present his/her country in the best way, Joksimović emphasized that this was a great honour for Serbia as well, whose fast economic growth and development, construction and stability were obviously an example for others.
"In its activities so far, the Republic of Serbia has shown the capacity for effective action in times of crisis, as well as solidarity with all those who need support," said Joksimović.
The Ambassador pointed out that, nowadays when global movements were recording tectonic shifts, it was important to once again call on international actors for peace and a return to diplomacy.
Explaining their selection, the organizers underlined that today there was an awareness of the global need for leaders in diplomacy who can use their diplomatic skills, involving negotiation, persuasion (through talks and mutual engagement) to resolve global concerns.
This award is an attempt to recognise those diplomats who have been taking measures for boosting intercultural and trade & tourism ties between the two countries.
Thus, the research team of the organizers conducted primary and secondary research for this purpose on the basis of sources available on the internet and social media sites, based on which the Jury Panel, comprising stalwarts from various industries like business, education, science, healthcare, etc., decided to present “the Knight of Honour Award’ to Ambassador Joksimović.
