The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in cooperation with the “Fiery Mary of Livno” Association mounted an exhibition in observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, on 27 January 2017. The exhibition entitled “The Serbs of Livno Plain – Enduring through the Centuries” was authored by P. Pilipovic and Professor V. Djuric Misina. The exhibition depicts several- century long Serb presence in the area which endured Turkish and Austro-Hungarian rule as well as their plight under the “Independent State of Croatia” from which they never recovered. A publicist and journalist B. Simonovic presented his book “Fiery Mary of Livno” testifying to the atrocities experienced by the Serbs in the territory of Livno during the Second World War. The book has been translated in English. In his opening statement, Ambassador Ognjen Pribicevic pointed out that for three years in a row, the Embassy of Serbia in London observed in this way the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
