Organized by the OPENS team from Novi Sad, a reception was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in London, on 14 May 2019, in which Novi Sad was presented as the European Youth Capital in 2019. The reception at the Embassy was held with the aim of promoting the European and international dimension of the title that Novi Sad has been holding in 2019, as well as presenting the opportunities thus made for improving the position of young people and strengthening their participation in society. On that occasion, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the United Kingdom Aleksandra Joksimović, as well as the coordinator for international cooperation of OPENS, Valentina Antić, addressed those present. Ambassador Joksimović underlined the importance of caring for the young, as well as the need to create an incentive climate and atmosphere in the society that, in a situation where brain drain is an increasing problem, will enable young people to stay in the country. Several dozens of officials, including representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, Foreign Office, prominent members of our diaspora, our best students and scholarship holders, as well as young people who have achieved successful careers in the United Kingdom, attended the reception.
