Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Serbia to Ireland, on a non-residential basis, presented the credentials to Irish President Michael D. Higgins at a solemn ceremony held in Dublin today. She conveyed the greetings of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, as well as the desire to raise the good relations between the two countries to an even higher level in the coming period.
Highlighting that the exchange of high-level visits would be one of the priorities during her tenure, Ambassador Joksimović emphasized the importance of economic co-operation between the two countries, with our desire to attract more Irish companies to invest in Serbia. She referred to Ireland’s successes in maintaining economic stability and stimulating growth, saying it was an instructive example that could be an important segment in the mutual exchange of experience. She thanked Ireland for its consistent support to the Republic of Serbia in the EU integration process.
President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins underlined the commitment of Ireland to further EU integration process, as well as his country’s readiness to assist Serbia on its path to full EU membership. He stressed the importance of historical ties between Ireland and the Republic of Serbia, also referring to the current context and the excellent cooperation we are pursuing within the UN mission in Lebanon. The Irish President conveyed his warmest regards to President Aleksandar Vučić, wishing him good health.
