Students who attend the Serbian Supplementary School, accompanied by teacher Vida Milojković, visited the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia on Vidovdan (St. Vitus’s day). A group of students from several cities in the United Kingdom was welcomed by Ambassador Aleksandra Joksimović. In the light of the great holiday, the Ambassador pointed out to the young guests the historical significance of Vidovdan, with an appropriate presentation about famous Serbian personalities whose portraits are exhibited in the Embassy.
In addition to discussing the importance of preserving the Serbian language, culture and tradition, the students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the role of the Embassy in representing the Republic of Serbia in the United Kingdom. Ambassador Joksimović especially emphasized the need to nurture close relations with our diaspora, which is why the Embassy will strive to further strengthen and improve these ties through its activities in the future.
