Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nikola Selaković received today the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Western Balkans, Sir Stuart Peach.
In the conversation, Minister Selaković stated that the bilateral relations between Serbia and the United Kingdom were good, but that there was significant room for their further improvement, both in terms of intensifying political dialogue and exchange of visits at the high and top level, as well as in the field of economic cooperation.
Special attention was paid to the situation in the region, and Minister Selaković informed Sir Peach in detail about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, expressing the expectation that the United Kingdom will provide constructive support to the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština and to finding compromise solutions.
According to Minister Selaković, Belgrade is consistently committed to dialogue and the search for sustainable solutions that will enable lasting stability in the region, which also implies the implementation of existing agreements.
The Head of Serbian diplomacy emphasized that the constructive regional policy of our country was also reflected in the “Open Balkans” initiative, as well as in other forms of connection and cooperation with neighbors.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of political topics related to the stability and development of the Western Balkans, but also some important geopolitical issues and the challenges they bring, such as energy, food, migration, etc.
